____________________________

Since the election of Donald Trump the collective rights of the Palestinian people have come under intensifying attacks. Israel has further entrenched its system of oppression; passing a racist nation state law, maintaining its crippling siege on Gaza, and continuing to rapidly expand illegal settlements in defiance of international law. Israel also killed more than 200 unarmed demonstrators during the ongoing Great Return March, and injured more Palestinians in 2018 than during the entire war on Gaza in 2014. Meanwhile, Trump’s cuts to UNRWA funding are part of a wider attempt to redefine the refugee status of millions of displaced Palestinians and erase their fundamental Right of Return.

So the Palestinian people need our solidarity more than ever, and are calling for global protests to protect their rights. As Israel continues to flout international law and violate human rights, there is a responsibility on the global community to hold it to account and push for an end to the oppression of the Palestinian people.

March 30th is Palestinian Land Day – when Palestinians across the world remember the unarmed protesters killed by Israel in 1976 during demonstrations about Israel’s theft of Palestinian land. This year, March 30th also marks the the 1st anniversary of the start of the Great Return March. These ongoing protests, taking place every single Friday, have seen thousands of Palestinians fighting for their right of return to their villages and homes from which they were forcibly removed. Many have been irreversibly injured and even killed for doing so.

The Palestinian people refuse to give up their struggle for justice. It is our task to draw inspiration from their endurance and answer their call for international solidarity.

So join us on March 30th to show support for the Palestinian struggle, and to rally for Palestinians’ fundamental rights to EXIST, RESIST & RETURN!

Darkness To Light (AlMaghrib Institute) @ London @ London UK | London | England | United Kingdom

Centuries have passed since the death of the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa salam and his Companions. Many empires have come and gone.
Yet as time has passed, Muslims have found comfort in the promise of the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa salam. They would not go astray if they held fast to two things- the Qur’an and his Sunnah. The gift of Prophetic guidance was that it would last – so long as they held firm to it.

“I have left behind me two things, if you cling to them you will never go astray. They are the Book of Allah and my Sunnah” – al-Haakim

Jumu'ah In Al-Aqsa Discover The Holy Land Of Masjid Al-Aqsa (Ustaadh Haaris) @ Jerusalem,Israel @ Masjid Al-Aqsa Jerusalem | Jerusalem | Israel

Al-Masjid al-Aqsa is superior to other mosques. The best of all mosques is al-Masjid al-Haraam (The Sacred Mosque in Makkah), then al-Masjid al-Nabawi (the Prophet’s Mosque in Madeenah), then al-Masjid al-Aqsa.

These three mosques are the three for which it is prescribed to travel for the purpose of worship. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Do not travel (specifically) to any mosque except three: al-Masjid al-Haraam, Masjid al-Aqsa, and this mosque of mine.”

Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1996.

One prayer in al-Masjid al-Aqsa is equivalent to two hundred and fifty prayers offered elsewhere.

It was narrated that Abu Dharr (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: We were discussing when we were with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), which is better, the Mosque of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) or Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem). The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “One prayer in my mosque is better than four prayers offered there (in Bayt al-Maqdis), and what a good place of prayer it is. Soon there will come a time when, if a man has a piece of land the size of a horse’s rope from which he can see Bayt al-Maqdis, that will be better for him than the whole world.” Narrated by al-Haakim, 4/509; he classed it as saheeh and al-Dhahabi and al-Albaani agreed with him, as it says in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, at the end of the discussion on hadeeth no. 2902.

EC is proud to present a weekly maqra’a to read Ibn al-Jarud’s Muntaqa, every Thursday at 16.30 in the EC prayer room.
Mufti Barakatullah has agreed to let us read al-Muntaqa of Ibn al-Jarud to him. The unique feature of this book is that it is one of the shortest collections of hadith related to ahkam that comes with full isnads. It contains about 1,100 hadiths, most of which have good isnads.
As an expert in fiqh, Mufti Barakatullah is an ideal shaykh to read this to, as he can provide valuable insights, particularly when it comes to mu’amalat and mu’asharat.
This is a free course and starts on 31st January 2019.

In this lecture Dr. Shoaib will introduce us to the movement known as New Atheism. This talk will include a look at the main and secondary figures of the movement, their criticisms levied at religion and, when possible, at Islam, and the various ways New Atheists have tried to encroach on the wider society from an ideological and sociopolitical perspective. Furthermore, this talk will involve a critical dissection of how and where their criticisms remain unwarranted. Some points mentioned in this lecture will be picked from Dr. Shoaib’s recent monograph entitled *Atheism and Islam: A Contemporary Discourse* and from his wider research on New Atheism and Islam.

DU’AA
The life of a believer can be summarised in one word; “Du’aa”, being an indispensable component in their lives, both of them. The challenges of life are countless, and the ones that await post-death are greater. There can be no safety from such challenges in the absence of Du’aa. TAWBAH
Everything in life is subject to wear and tear, requiring a share of servicing and repair. Our iman is of no exception, being exposed to tens of encounters each day that damage our hearts and consequential prospects of success in the Hereafter. We haven’t been left empty handed, however, for iman can in fact be repaired, and even taken to an entirely greater point than it was at before the sin. This can be achieved through Tawba.

The management of the show has confirmed there is no filming by the cast in June, July and August hence our trip is in September 2019. Please note, the primary focus of the trip is the historical element of the legacy of Ertugrul Ghazi and those who followed him.
