Learn all about the the most important act of worship – the one that is most ordered in the Quran, the first to be judged, the true sign of one’s belief, the one that brings you the closest to Allah and the one that brings you to the true station of servitude – the prayer! An essential course for all Muslims. A simple 5 minute act of worship that is more beloved to Allah than this world and all that is in it! Little wonder is it not, that the Prophet’s ? last advice before he passed away was: The Prayer, the Prayer! This course will cover all aspects of the prayer…
An essential pre-condition to prayer is purification. When the billions from humanity stand on the plains of their reckoning, on that appointed day there will be only one way to spot them. It is the believer’s mark – the signs of light from the parts of their bodies that they had purified for their worship of Allah the Most High.
Sheikh Bilal Ismail was born in Durban, South Africa. He is one of three siblings and comes from a religious traditional hanafi family.
He memorized the Quran while studying at school and went on to complete high school in 1998. Sheikh Bilal then went on to do a diploma in Computer Science in 1999, as well as qualifying as a Microsoft certified systems engineer. He was accepted into the Islamic University of Madinah in 2001 where he completed his Diploma in Arabic followed by a BA in Islamic Law from the faculty of Shariah. He is currently completing his masters degree.
After graduating from Madinah, he returned to South Africa where he had been teaching Fiqh and Tafsir weekly classes in Durban since the summer of 2007 and says he is still a student of knowledge – and will always be!
Sheikh Bilal joins our academic team as an instructor and as the academic head of the Students Guild and has quickly become a favourite of AK students around the world.
Patience and Gratitude: Coping With Difficulties and Hardships
Shaykh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi
Patience and gratitude are important spiritual states. If incorporated into our daily life, they can elevate us and improve our life. The quality of the sincerely patient differentiates those who truly love Allah Ta’ala with those who make claims of love.
In the Holy Qur’an Allah Ta’ala speaks of Sayyiduna Ayyub (AS): “……truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service. Ever did he turn (to Us.)” (Surah as-saad 38:44)
We must be patient and grateful of Allah Ta’ala’s favours upon us and if we thank Him, know that He “will surely increase” us. (Surah Al- Ibrahim 14:7)
We are faced with many hardships and difficulties in our life, but how do we keep patient and show gratitude to our Lord? How do we continue to keep trying when we see no hope?
Come along and learn practical ways to cope with difficulties and hardships and thus preserve your iman.
