In this course we will work with one of the most important scripts in Islamic calligraphy, the thuluth script, as a way to deepen the understanding of this art and its guiding principles.

The course will cover the following:

A brief introduction to Islamic calligraphy, different scripts, tools and materials.

The letters of the alphabet in the different thuluth calligraphic forms.

Exercises on writing techniques with traditional methods and materials.

Creations and compositions with calligraphy elements.

Who is this course for?
Because of the method of instruction, previous knowledge of the Arabic language is not necessary. The course is suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced.

What should I bring to class?
All materials will be provided in class.

Monday – Friday
