DESCRIPTION
In an increasingly regulated environment, and with greater expectations of charitable community institutions from multiple stakeholders, there is a need for mosques, community centres and charities generally to pursue and maintain the highest standards in their operations and management, from an ethical and legal point of view. This program will be chaired by Ifath Nawaz, a Senior Consultant Solictor and Chair of MCB’s Legal Affairs. The program has three important sessions delivered by three experts:

(i) ‘Charity law’ by Khaled Moyeed, Solicitor specialising in charity law and regulation

(ii) ‘Governance’ by Saif Ahmad, former CEO of Muslim Aid, Islamic Help and Al Khair Foundation and the Managing Director of McAndrew Executive Coaching and Leadership

(iii) ‘Regulation’ by Nick Donaldson, Head of Faith Charities Engagement, Charity Commission

Nick Donaldson

Nick Donaldson studied modern languages and then Christian theology at university
He joined the Charity Commission in 2007 as a member of the Large Charities Division, working in particular with large faith-based and international charities
He became an intelligence analyst in 2011, supporting the Commission’s investigative work, before becoming manager of the Outreach team in October 2012
He was appointed as Head of Faith Charities Engagement in January 2017.
